The Australia (CDC) estimates that in 2015, nearly 7% of people had at least one major depressive episode within the past year. It is also one of the most knwon mental health conditions in Western countries, where it affects 8% to 12% of people during their lifetime. At first glance, depression may seem like an isolated condition—but it’s actually part of a group called mood disorders—which are also referred to as affective disorders or simply “mood disorders.”

This is because their bodies interpret this as being sick even though no physical ailment exists. Consequently, stress triggers many other health problems, including hypertension (high blood pressure), cardiovascular disease, obesity, cancer, diabetes mellitus type 2 (diabetes) and depression.
